Supported tools and formats
PDF and Office
- PDF to Word
Turn the text of a PDF into an editable Word document. Paragraphs and headings are rebuilt from where the text sits on each page; pictures and exact layout are not carried over.
- Word to PDF
Turn a .docx document into a PDF in your browser, with its headings, paragraphs, bold text, lists, tables and pictures laid out fresh on A4 pages. Korean, Japanese and Chinese text is supported.
- PDF to Excel
Pull tables out of a PDF into an Excel workbook, one sheet per page. Rows and columns are rebuilt from where the text sits, and plain numbers become real numbers you can add up.
- Excel to PDF
Print every sheet of an .xlsx workbook into a PDF as a clean table, with each sheet starting on a new page. Wide sheets switch to landscape pages automatically.
- PDF to PowerPoint
Put each page of a PDF on its own PowerPoint slide, at the PDF page shape. Slides look exactly like the PDF because each page is placed as a picture, so the text on them is not editable.
- PowerPoint to PDF
Turn a .pptx presentation into a PDF, one page per slide, with each slide's text boxes and pictures placed where the slide puts them. Themes, shapes, charts and animations are left out and the result says so.
Convert images
- Convert JPG and PNG
Convert an image between JPG, PNG and WebP in your browser, and choose the colour that replaces transparency when you export to JPG.
- PNG to JPG
Convert PNG images to JPG in your browser. Transparent areas are filled with a colour you choose, white by default, because JPG cannot store transparency.
- JPG to PNG
Save JPG photos as PNG files in your browser. The photo is turned upright using its EXIF orientation and written losslessly from that point on.
- HEIC to JPG
Convert iPhone and iPad HEIC photos to JPG or PNG in your browser, so they open on Windows, Android and any website. The photo is decoded on your device and never uploaded.
- Convert to WebP
Convert JPG and PNG images to WebP in your browser. WebP keeps transparency and is supported by every current browser, which makes it a common choice for websites.
- WebP to JPG
Turn a static WebP file into a JPG or PNG that older software can open, with a background colour of your choice for any transparent areas.
Edit images
- Compress image to a target size
Give a target size in kB and a quality floor. The compressor searches encoder settings for a result that respects your floors, and says plainly when the target cannot be reached.
- Resize or crop image
Set a maximum width and height, then either fit the whole image inside that box or crop it to fill the box from the centre. Images are never stretched and never enlarged.
- Rotate or flip image
Turn images 90 or 180 degrees, or mirror them horizontally or vertically, and download the corrected files. The rotation is applied to the pixels, so every program shows it the same way.
- Add watermark to image
Add your own text to images as a watermark, in a corner or across the centre, with the size, colour and opacity you choose. The text is drawn into the pixels of the downloaded file.
AI tools
- OCR: image or scan to text
Read the text in a photo, screenshot or scanned PDF with Tesseract OCR, in 14 languages including Korean, Japanese and Chinese. Get plain text, or a searchable PDF you can select and search.
- Remove image background
Cut the subject out of a photo with the U-2-Net model running in your browser, and download a PNG with a transparent background, or with a colour of your choice behind it.
Convert PDF
- JPG to PDF
Place JPG and PNG images into a single PDF in the order you choose, with A4, Letter or image-sized pages and a margin you set.
- PDF to JPG
Turn every page of a PDF into a JPG or PNG image in your browser, at 72 to 300 DPI. A one-page PDF gives you one image; a longer one gives you a ZIP with one image per page.
- PDF to text
Copy all the text out of a PDF into a plain UTF-8 .txt file, separated page by page. It reads the text stored in the PDF; it does not recognise text in scanned pictures.
Organize PDF
- Merge PDF
Combine two or three PDFs into one document in the order you choose. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and nothing is turned into a picture.
- Split PDF
Name the pages you want to keep, such as 1-3,7, and get a new PDF containing only those pages in that order. The original file is never changed.
- Delete PDF pages
Remove the pages you name, such as 2,5-7, and download the PDF with the remaining pages in their original order. Nothing on the kept pages is changed.
- Rotate PDF
Turn every page of a PDF, or only the pages you name, by 90 or 180 degrees, and save it so it opens the right way up everywhere. The page content itself is not touched.
Optimize and edit PDF
- Compress PDF
Make a PDF smaller in your browser. Lossless mode keeps text selectable and changes nothing you can see. Strong mode turns every page into a compressed picture for a much smaller file, and text stops being selectable.
- Add page numbers to PDF
Number every page of a PDF at the top or bottom, as 3 or as 3 / 12, starting from any number you choose. Numbers follow each page as the reader sees it, even on rotated pages.
- Add watermark to PDF
Stamp text such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL on every page of a PDF, diagonally or straight across the centre, with real transparency so the page underneath stays readable.
- Edit PDF
Click on a page to add text, a picture, a highlight or a white-out box, or click an existing line to replace it. The original pages are kept as they are, so text stays selectable and nothing is turned into an image.
Sign and secure PDF
- Protect PDF with a password
Encrypt a PDF with AES-256 so it can only be opened with the password you set. The password and the file stay in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
- Unlock PDF
Remove password protection from a PDF you are allowed to open, by entering its password once. The result opens without a password. Nothing here guesses or bypasses a password you do not have.
- Sign PDF
Draw or type your signature and place it on any page of a PDF, with the date if you want it. This is a visible signature, like signing a printout; it is not a certificate-based digital signature.
- Check PDF before signing
Before you sign a contract, quote or invoice, check it for lines where quantity times price is wrong, totals and tax that do not add up, amounts in words that differ from the figure, impossible or out-of-order dates, and fields left blank. The checks run on your device; the document is not uploaded.
Video and audio
- Video converter
Convert MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI videos to MP4 or WebM, turn a clip into a GIF, or save the sound as MP3, in your browser with ffmpeg. Choose a smaller height to make the file smaller.
What is not built
None of the following work on this site today. They are listed so you do not waste time looking for them.
- Redacting: permanently removing text from a PDF (Edit PDF covers text; it does not delete it)
- Certificate-based digital signatures
- Older .doc, .xls and .ppt files (save them as .docx, .xlsx or .pptx first)
- RAW camera files
- Animated GIF or animated WebP as input
- Opening a password-protected PDF without its password
Common questions
- Where are my files processed?
- In your own browser. The tools read and write the file bytes on your device, so nothing you choose is uploaded to a server to be converted. A few tools download their engine the first time you use them, such as the OCR recognizer, the background removal model or the video converter; those downloads contain no file of yours. Nothing is stored either: closing or reloading the tab discards the result.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. Every tool listed on this site works without signing in. There is no account system yet at all, so there is nothing to sign in to.
- What does it cost?
- The tools are free, with up to 3 files in one job. A one-time Batch Pack at $4.90 and a Pro plan at $9 a month or $84 a year are planned for larger batches and saved settings, but nothing is on sale yet and no payment can be taken.
- What are the file limits?
- Up to 3 images per job, up to 3 PDFs for a merge and 1 file for the other PDF, Office and video tools; 20,000,000 bytes per file; 24,000,000 pixels per image, counted as width times height; 50 pages per input PDF; and 100,000,000 bytes for everything selected together. A file over a limit is named with the reason instead of failing silently.
- Which file formats are supported?
- JPG, PNG, static WebP and HEIC photos; PDF; Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in .docx, .xlsx and .pptx; and MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI videos. Older .doc, .xls and .ppt files, RAW camera files and animated images are not supported. The format is decided by reading the bytes of the file, not by trusting its extension, so a renamed file is caught rather than mangled.
- Why was my PDF refused?
- A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first, with Unlock PDF and the password you already have; nothing here guesses or bypasses a password. A digitally signed PDF can be converted to images or text, but every tool that would save it again refuses it, because that would break the signature while the file still looked signed. A PDF whose structure cannot be read is refused rather than partly processed.
- How close are the Word, Excel and PowerPoint conversions to the original?
- Close for content, not identical in layout, and it depends on the direction. Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF keep the text, tables and pictures. PDF to Word and Excel rebuild text and table rows but not pictures or styles, and PDF to PowerPoint keeps each page as a picture. Each tool page says what it keeps, and a result that left something out is marked Needs review.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. The pages are built to be readable and operable from 320 pixels wide upward, and the download is a normal browser download. Large files are limited by the memory your phone browser will give the tab, which is why the per-file and per-job byte caps apply everywhere.
