    What this tool does

    • Fit inside a box, or crop to fill it
    • Aspect ratio always preserved
    • No upscaling of an image already smaller than the box
    • Output format selectable
    • Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
    • Applies EXIF orientation once, so a rotated photo exports the way you see it.
    • Flattens transparent areas onto the background color you choose when you export JPG.
    • Rejects animated images instead of exporting a single frame without telling you.
    • Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.

Questions about Resize or crop image

Why will the tool not enlarge my small image?
Enlarging invents pixels that were never recorded, which makes the picture look soft without adding detail. If your image is already smaller than the box you entered, it keeps its own size and the result reports the measured dimensions.
What is the difference between fit and crop?
Fit scales the image down until the whole picture is inside your box, so one dimension may end up smaller than you asked for. Crop scales until the box is completely covered and then cuts the overflow away from the centre, so you get exactly the dimensions you asked for but lose the edges.
    Is the aspect ratio kept?
Always. Neither mode stretches the picture, because a stretched photo is a defect rather than a resize option.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
    How much does it cost?
The tools on this page are free to use, with up to 3 files per job. Paid plans for larger batches are described on the pricing page but are not on sale yet.
