Merge PDF files into one document
Combine two or three PDFs into one document in the order you choose. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and nothing is turned into a picture.

- 1
Select or drop the PDF files you want to combine.
- 2
Arrange them with the Up and Down controls until the order is right.

What this tool does
- Two or three PDFs per free job
- Page order under your control
- Pages copied, never rasterized into images
- Encrypted and digitally signed PDFs refused rather than silently altered
- Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
- Copies real pages. Nothing is rasterized and no page is re-rendered.
- Refuses encrypted PDFs instead of working around the protection.
- Refuses digitally signed PDFs, because saving them again would break the signature.
- Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.
Questions about Merge PDF
- Does merging turn my text into an image?
- No. Pages are copied from the source documents into the new one, so text, fonts and vector drawings survive. A tool that rasterized pages would make your document unsearchable and much larger, which is why this one does not.
- Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
- No. An encrypted PDF is refused rather than opened, because working around a document password is not something a file tool should do for you. Remove the protection in the program that applied it, then merge the result.
- What about a digitally signed PDF?
- It is refused too. Writing the file out again breaks the cryptographic signature, so the merged copy would claim an integrity that no longer holds. Refusing is more honest than handing back a document with a broken signature.
- How many files can I merge at once?
- Up to 3 PDFs per job on the free plan, with each file up to 20,000,000 bytes and 50 pages.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
