Questions about Remove image background
- Will the cut-out be perfect?
- Not always. It works best on one clear subject in front of a plain, contrasting background. Hair, fur, glass and subjects the same colour as the background often come out with rough or missing edges, so check the result before you use it.
- Which model does it use?
- U-2-Net-p, a small salient-object model published under the Apache 2.0 licence. It is served from this site and run with ONNX Runtime in your browser.
- Why is the first run slower?
- The model and its runtime are loaded the first time you use the tool. After that they stay loaded until you leave the page.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The ONNX Runtime engine is downloaded to your browser the first time you use this tool, and your file is processed on your own device. Nothing you choose is sent to us or to the download service.
