What this tool does
- One sheet per PDF page
- Columns found from how the text lines up
- Plain numbers stored as numbers; codes with leading zeros kept as text
- Opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers
- Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
- Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.
Questions about PDF to Excel
- How accurate is the table?
- It works best on simple tables with clear columns, like statements and price lists. Merged cells, tables without clear column alignment and text that wraps inside a cell can land in the wrong column, so check the sheet before you rely on it.
- Why is 00123 still text?
- Because it is probably a code, not a number. Turning it into 123 would change it, so only plain numbers such as 1,234.50 are converted to numbers.
- Does it work on scanned PDFs?
- No. A scan has no text to read. Make a searchable PDF with the OCR tool first.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
