    What this tool does

    • JPG, PNG and WebP output
    • Explicit background colour for transparency
    • EXIF orientation applied exactly once
    • Animated images refused instead of silently flattened
    • Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
    • Applies EXIF orientation once, so a rotated photo exports the way you see it.
    • Flattens transparent areas onto the background color you choose when you export JPG.
    • Rejects animated images instead of exporting a single frame without telling you.
    • Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.

Questions about Convert JPG and PNG

What happens to transparency when I convert a PNG to JPG?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas have to become a solid colour. This tool asks you which colour instead of guessing, and defaults to white. To keep transparency, export PNG or WebP instead.
Will my photo come out rotated?
No. A JPG from a phone camera stores its rotation in an EXIF tag. The converter reads that tag, applies the rotation once to the actual pixels, and clears the tag, so the program that opens the file cannot apply the rotation a second time.
Can I convert an animated GIF or animated WebP?
No. Animated input is detected and refused, because exporting only the first frame and calling it a conversion would quietly lose the rest of the file. Static WebP is supported.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
    How much does it cost?
The tools on this page are free to use, with up to 3 files per job. Paid plans for larger batches are described on the pricing page but are not on sale yet.
