    What this tool does

    • PNG in, JPG out
    • Explicit background colour for transparency
    • Animated PNG refused instead of flattened to one frame
    • Measured size of every result
    • Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
    • Applies EXIF orientation once, so a rotated photo exports the way you see it.
    • Flattens transparent areas onto the background color you choose when you export JPG.
    • Rejects animated images instead of exporting a single frame without telling you.
    • Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.

    Questions about PNG to JPG

Will the JPG be smaller than the PNG?
Usually, for photographs. For screenshots, logos and flat graphics a JPG can be larger and will show soft edges around text, because JPG is designed for photos. Each result shows its measured size, so you can compare before you use it.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so every transparent pixel becomes the colour you pick. It defaults to white. If you need to keep transparency, keep the PNG or convert it to WebP instead.
Is the location or camera data from my image kept?
No. The image is decoded and drawn again, and the browser writes a new file with no metadata copied across, so details such as GPS location are not carried into the JPG.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
    How much does it cost?
The tools on this page are free to use, with up to 3 files per job. Paid plans for larger batches are described on the pricing page but are not on sale yet.
