Rotate PDF pages
Turn every page of a PDF, or only the pages you name, by 90 or 180 degrees, and save it so it opens the right way up everywhere. The page content itself is not touched.
How to rotate PDF pages
- 1
Select or drop a PDF file.
- 2
Choose the direction to turn.
- 3
Leave the page box empty for every page, or name the pages to turn.
- 4
Rotate and download the PDF.
What this tool does
- Clockwise, counter-clockwise or upside down
- Every page, or only the pages you name
- Saved as the page rotation setting, exactly as a PDF viewer saves it
- Text, links and quality unchanged
- Reads the file signature instead of trusting the file extension.
- Copies real pages. Nothing is rasterized and no page is re-rendered.
- Refuses encrypted PDFs instead of working around the protection.
- Refuses digitally signed PDFs, because saving them again would break the signature.
- Reports the measured size of the file your browser produced.
Questions about Rotate PDF
- Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality?
- No. Rotation is stored as a setting on each page, the same way a PDF viewer saves it. The text, images and drawings inside the page are not redrawn.
- Can I rotate just one scanned page that came out upside down?
- Yes. Type its page number, for example 4, choose Upside down, and only that page turns.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs inside your browser tab, so the file bytes are read and written on your own device and are never sent to us for processing. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why results cannot be restored after a reload.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The free tools work without signing in. There is no account system yet, so nothing is stored between visits.
