Questions about Word to PDF
- Which Word files work?
- Documents saved as .docx, the format Word has used since 2007. The older .doc format is not supported; open it in Word and save it as .docx first.
- What is not carried over?
- Page layout from the original, such as margins, columns, headers, footers, text boxes and shapes. The content is laid out again on A4. When something was left out, the result is marked Needs review instead of claiming a perfect copy.
- Will it look exactly like the original?
- Not exactly, and no browser converter can promise that. The content is rebuilt in the new format, so fonts, spacing and complex layouts can differ. Check the result before you send it.
- Is my document uploaded?
- No. The document is read and the PDF is written in your browser. Only the font files needed for the text are downloaded, from the jsDelivr CDN; your document is not sent anywhere.
